In my first year at college, my lecturer announced an opportunity to volunteer for the Aberdeen Cyrenians (a homeless charity in Aberdeen) to take photographs and videos for a few of their events. I saw it as an ideal way to expand my skillset and gain some experience in digital media.
The Baker Hughes 10k run was the event I chose to attend. There were many runners each sponsered by a company, organisation or the public. I captured photos and videos of the Aberdeen Cyrenians contigent (including the staff and mascots) and the runners themselves using my Samsung WB150F camera and iPhone 6.
I sent the files to the Aberdeen Cyrenians via the online file transfer tool, WeTransfer (which allows easy high file size transfers over email) to be edited and promoted on Facebook and Twitter.
